Wednesday Wisdom: Faithful in the Next Small Thing

“He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much.” — Luke 16:10 (KJV, excerpt)

Most days are shaped by small decisions. We listen or hurry past. We keep a promise or put it off. We notice a need or assume someone else will respond.

Jesus’ words in Luke 16:10 invite us to take ordinary faithfulness seriously. We do not have to wait for a larger opportunity before caring well for what is already in our hands: our time, our relationships, our abilities, and our resources.

Choose one small act of faithfulness this week:

• Give someone your undivided attention. Ask how they are doing, and make room for an honest answer.
• Keep one promise. Follow through on a commitment, or speak truthfully with the person who is waiting on you.
• Make room to serve. Look at one use of your time or resources and ask whether a small change could help a neighbor.

These steps do not need an audience. A quiet act of care can matter deeply to the person who receives it.

At Quest, we are learning to love God and our neighbors in everyday life. This week, begin with one person, one responsibility, and one useful next step.

A question for reflection
What small act of faithfulness is within your reach today?

Prayer
Lord, help us notice the people and responsibilities You have placed before us. Teach us to listen, to keep our word, and to serve with generous hearts. Give us grace to take the next faithful step. Amen.
